Snow Girl’s After Party

Angelette & Yukina: Thank you for reading “Snow Girls!”

Yukina: Or I guess if this is your first time meeting us then: Thank you for opening the After Party~ This is a little treat for those who beat the game from the writer Shirley. Although you should really read the whole game, rater then read this first!

Angelette: Anyway, now that’s out of the way, we can start the party then?

Yukina: Right, let’s chat a bit~ Me and Angelette wanted to just talk a little about the idea behind the game and stuff like that!

Angelette: I don’t really know where to begin.

Yukina: Hmm… I don’t know…

Angelette: Well, I guess the first thing you do when you meet someone is introduce yourselves to them, so why don’t we start with that?

Yukina: …? They played the game, right? Shouldn’t they know us by now?

Angelette: I-I know that! They should know us but there’s some things they wouldn’t know.

Yukina:  Oh! Then we could talk about stuff that only we know then? Like our design inspirations and stuff~

Angelette: Let’s start with that then!

Yukina: Oki~ I’ll go first. My name is Yukina as you know I’m a Yuki-Onna so a lot of my character is based on that premise! My original design was by Shirley and it was based off of Lum from Urusei Yatsura by Rumiko Takahashi in a like vague kind of way? The main idea was to have a cute sort of otherworldly heroine with some cute and strange hair~ But, I’m not as aggressive as Lum in terms of personality. It was decided I’d be a cute and bubbly girl who talks all like cute and such with a big of a high-school valley girl vibe?  Here is my original design!

Angelette: But that whole high-school valley girl thing or whatever is a lie, isn’t it? In reality you’re an 80s American television obsessed shut-in.

Yukina: H-Hey even if I am I wouldn’t say that side of me is a lie! I tried really hard to sound like I haven’t been locked away in my room for soooo long, okay! Oh, well I guess you could say that behind closed doors I’m not as cutesy and maybe I am a bit more assertive!

Angelette: I guess it’s my turn now. My name is Angelette, and I’m an angel. I guess technically Angelette is a borrowed name but I’d rather just be called that. For me there’s a bunch of vague inspirations.  I guess to start one inspiration for my character would be “The Match Girl” by Hans Christen Andersen, if you haven’t read “The Match Girl” I think you really should, the intro of the story was based on it.

Yukina: It’s one of Shirley’s favorite fairy tales though too~

Angelette: My original character design was also by Shirley, and I was loosely based off Ran from Urusei Yatsura and Shinbou. While the idea about my hat covering my halo is from Kobato by Clamp.  Here is how Shirley drew my original design:

Yukina: Personality wise though Angelette is a complete Tsun Tsun Tsundere~ She acts all tough but she’s actually easily embarrassed and easily flares up!

Angelette: H-Hey what’s that supposed to mean?

Yukina: As I said~

Angelette: A-Anyway! Moooving on! The plot! As I said before the start is based on “The Match Girl”, so my backstory is vaguely based on that. Oh, Angelette’s grandma is still alive by the way… I don’t plan to say goodbye to this identity of mine until she’s at peace…

Yukina: … The main idea was a collab between Lynis and Shirley, and Shirley wanted to make a cute romance between two girls~ The winter theme was because of the Winter VN Jam, and so it went off from there. It’s just a cute story about two girls falling in love~ It’s quite short though, isn’t it?

Angelette: It’s not a super complex plot, the main beats were supposed to be based on my hidden identity as a “snow angel”, and then me revealing that to Yukina.

Yukina: Yep! I’m still sorry about what happened on the roof. I’m grateful you saved me!

Angelette: It’s fine, I’d do it 10 times over, I’d never leave you to fall.

Angelette: Okay, next I guess we can talk about… The setting? The game takes place mostly in an old mall, in North America near the end of December. It’s meant to be a bit vague on purpose.

Yukina: The pictures are all from a real place and all photos were taken from this mall or like most of them? The mall is pretty with its white archways… The team ended up taking a bunch of pictures for the game, and only like one or two images aren’t photos like taken by the team!

Angelette: The game was for a Winter Vn Jam, so the winter setting was important, but… It was supposed to be for the Winter VN jam in 2022…Which was last year. For some reason the whole progress ended up taking a year instead of a month…

Yukina: Uwaua I-I guess that’s true… There was a bunch of reasons for the delays, due to work, health, and motivation reasons the game took quite a while… Although it’s out now so let’s forget all that please~

Angelette: But I’m glad that the game is finished now and that I could tell you about how I met Yukina.

Yukina: Next time I’d like to go on a cruise and have a cute romance on the ship like in “Love Ship” ~

Angelette: Instead of “Love Ship” don’t you think it’d be more like the “Titanic”?

Yukina: No comment.

Angelette: Anyway, I think that’s it… One day maybe we will meet again?

Yukina: Even if we don’t…
